What is Community Space?First and foremost, Community Space is a ministry of Community of Christ. We work hard to ensure participants feel a real connection with their denomination in a new way.
Community Space is an online program sponsored by Oklahoma Mission Center that meets once each month via Zoom web-conferencing software. Members and friends alike are invited to come together in a new, refreshing way for a worshipful experience. Since its launch in October 2016, this newfound sense of community has brought people together from across the mission center, the USA, and the world. Each service, while in a new format, includes basic aspects from traditional Sunday morning services, including a moment of meaning (sermon), strengths and struggles (joys and concerns), disciples generous response (offertory), reflect and connect (lesson/discussion), agape meal (in place of communion), and prayer for peace (a daily practice in the Community of Christ tradition). Community Space is a member of the Community Place+ family. |

Come Together
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all Community of Christ congregations have closed and many have been left without a place to worship and fellowship. Seeing a need, the Community Space Leadership Team decided to begin hosting weekly Sunday services on Zoom starting at 11am CT. While hosted by the Leadership Team, each week a new congregation will be presiding over the service.
If your congregation is willing to plan a worship service for Come Together, please e-mail the Leadership Team at [email protected]. Underneath the graphic to the right, you will find a Google Doc that has resources for congregations that might be interested in leading a service. We look forward to still being able to be together in community during this tough time. Each week, the link to join the Zoom call will be shared on this page as well as through our e-mail lists. Please note you will need to download Zoom to your computer or smart phone prior to using the link. Dialing in via telephone is also an option. For additional information regarding how to download Zoom and use its features, please see the resources below. |
